Every snowflake begins high within the clouds, where changing temperatures and humidity shape its intricate crystalline structure. As each crystal grows, it develops delicate branches and geometric patterns influenced by the atmospheric conditions it encounters.
During active Colorado winter storms, I carefully collect snowflakes by hand and preserve them while working below freezing. Temperature, humidity, wind, light, and even a single breath can affect these fragile crystals before preservation is complete.
Once preserved, something that would ordinarily disappear within moments becomes a lasting piece of natural art.
What I especially love about these little wildflower pieces is the way they bring two seasons together.
Wildflowers remind me of warmer days, open fields, and the quiet beauty of things growing beneath the sunshine. Snowflakes belong to the colder months, forming high above us before drifting gently toward the earth.
Together, they create a tiny gathering of nature’s extraordinary details, preserving a little bit of winter and a little bit of summer in the same piece.
The delicate flowers add color and softness to the naturally formed snow crystal, creating a miniature botanical scene that feels both peaceful and wonderfully unexpected.
No two snowflakes are ever exactly alike, making every finished piece completely one of a kind. The exact artwork shown in the listing photographs is the one you will receive.
