PRESERVED SNOW CRYSTAL GLOBAL ARCHIVE

A permanent record of nature’s most fleeting masterpieces.

The Preserved Snow Crystal Global Archive is an evolving collection of real snow crystals captured by hand and preserved while still frozen. Founded in Colorado by artist Danielle Oliver, the archive transforms fleeting moments of weather into a permanent collection that celebrates the beauty, complexity and individuality of every snow crystal.

Each preserved snow crystal is a permanent record of a unique moment in Earth’s atmosphere. Formed by changing temperatures, humidity and wind, no two have ever been exactly alike.

The archive exists to preserve these extraordinary natural structures before they disappear, creating a lasting record of one of nature’s most remarkable works of art.

THE COLORADO COLLECTION

The inaugural exhibition features the Colorado Collection, where every preserved snow crystal was captured during Colorado snowstorms and preserved at the moment of its greatest beauty.

More than an exhibition, this collection is the foundation of a lifetime project to document snow crystals from around the world.

OUR MISSION

To preserve one of nature’s most fleeting creations before it disappears.

To build a permanent archive documenting the remarkable diversity of real snow crystals from around the world.

To inspire curiosity through art, science and exploration.

To encourage people to slow down, look closer and discover beauty that often exists just beyond everyday perception.
