Every snowflake begins within the clouds, where changing temperature and humidity influence the way the crystal grows. By the time it reaches the ground, its tiny structure carries a record of the atmospheric conditions it traveled through.
During an active Colorado snowfall, I collect each snowflake by hand and preserve it while working below freezing. Temperature, humidity, wind, light, and time can all affect a crystal before preservation is complete, making every successful capture completely individual.
Once preserved, something that would normally disappear within moments can become a lasting piece of art.
No two snowflakes are ever exactly alike. Each pendant is individually created around its preserved snow crystal and natural gemstone, making every finished piece truly one of a kind.
