Every Preserved Snowflake begins as a naturally formed snow crystal that falls from the clouds during an active Colorado winter storm. Working entirely below freezing, I carefully collect each snowflake and preserve it while frozen using my original preservation process before transforming it into wearable art.
Collecting snowflakes is a race against time. Temperature, humidity, wind, light and even a single breath can affect a delicate snow crystal before preservation begins. Each capture is completed entirely by hand before the snowflake is carefully preserved in resin, allowing its intricate natural structure to be admired for generations.
No two snowflakes are ever alike. Every real snowflake forms naturally within the clouds and can never be recreated, making each pendant as unique as the winter storm from which it came.
This piece is part of my ongoing World Snowflake Archive, a lifetime project dedicated to preserving snow crystals from around the world. Each winter adds new discoveries to a growing collection celebrating the remarkable diversity hidden within every snowfall.
