Every snowflake begins high within the clouds, where changing temperatures and humidity shape its intricate crystalline structure. As snow crystals fall, they sometimes meet and cling together, forming beautiful clusters that carry the story of a winter storm.
During active Colorado snowfalls, I carefully collect these delicate formations by hand and preserve them while working below freezing. Temperature, humidity, wind, light, and even a single breath can affect the crystals before preservation is complete.
What I especially love about this piece is the contrast between its design and the snowflakes it holds. A little wooden sun carrying a gathering of winter crystals, two parts of nature that seem so different yet are beautifully connected.
Each storm cluster is entirely individual. Some crystals remain distinct, while others overlap and intertwine, creating formations that could never be recreated exactly the same way.
No two snowflake clusters are ever alike, making this pendant a completely one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art.
